One of China's largest domestic hubs and home to China Southern Airlines, Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport has unsurpassed domestic air links throughout the country. The new Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport is a millennium construction project in China and plays an important role in the civil airport network. The new airport is located at the juncture of Renhe and Xinhua, north towns in the suburbs of Guangzhou, and is 17km away from the existing one and 28km away from down town.
