Mount Bailey

USA / Oregon / Oakridge /
 mountain, volcano

Elevation 8368 feet (2551 meters). Broad, round and dome-shaped, Bailey is the other half of the "Mutt and Jeff" pair of mountains on either side of Diamond Lake. An old shield volcano, Bailey still lets out an occasional puff of steam from a vent on its northern flank. Bailey is popular with snow-cat skiers in the winter and is a challenging summit hike during the summer. (Be careful if you decide to climb it...the summit ridge is trickier than it looks.) Bailey's summit is littered with red, orange and black volcanic bombs.
