The church of Hagia Paraskeue in Khalkida (ancient Khalkis, medieval Negroponte) was built in the 13th century as a Dominican church dedicated to the Virgin (Notre Dame). It is one of the few surviving pre-modern remains in the city today, spared from destruction at the end of the 19th century due to being the seat of the local metropolitan.
