Remains of destroyed temple. It is assumed to be the Per-wer (“Great House”) (i.e. sanctuary of the royal uraeus goddesses and of Weret-Hekau, goddess of the crowns) which the kings entered to receive their crowns during their coronations. The temple was built and restored three to four times: first, in the New Kingdom (where its foundations are talatat blocks), second, in Dynasty 25, third in the Napatan Period, and finally in the reign of Natakamani and Amanitore (first century CE). Each reconstruction was probably undertaken after a major rock fall. A relief bearing the throne-name of Horemheb was found very close to its talatat foundations www.jebelbarkal.org/
