This historic building was built during the great depression in 1936 mostly with funds from the Works Progress Administration (WPA) to be used as an auditorium, gymnasium, and home economics complex for the Kyle schools. It has continued to be used as a multipurpose room for many activities, even as the Kyle Elementary School cafeteria until March 2007 when a new cafeteria building was opened.
