Chicago Colleens (All-American Girls Professional Baseball League) playing field in 1948. The Chicago Colleens were an expansion team in the 1948 AAGPBL. While they played in the largest city in the league's history, they were a very unsuccessful group, going just 47-77 to finish last in the eastern division. As a squad, they hit just .180. They were managed by Dave Bancroft. In 1949 the team became a touring development team, then dissolved entirely by '51.
