On 12 March 1983 UNITA occupied the village of Alto Catumbela , which destroyed the local pulp mill , paper mill and a transformer station. At this event, and kidnapped a group of Czechoslovak experts with their families , who worked here . In the group of 66 prisoners , 28 were men, 17 women and 21 children . During the kidnapping took part for the majority of prisoners in the length of 1320 km , in which one man died . He was then carried by truck to move Jamba base in the south of Angola. The first group consisting of women , children, and seven men returned first července 1983. The second group consists of the remaining 20 men after a year internment in the bush returned to Czechoslovakia 23rd června 1984.
