The land was originally the home of the Saskatoon Stock Car Racing Club. The club operated its 8th Street Racing Oval from 1954 until 1968, when it had to relocate when the land was annexed for the development of the Wildwood neighbourhood.

Elim Tabernacle, a Pentacostal church, was built here in 1976. In 2009, the property went up for sale as a new church was being constructed in the Lakewood Suburban Centre neighbourhood.
