  • its a beautiful spot...the cave is amazing...its a shame the rest of the surroundings are not maintained as well as they can be...
  • we used to come yearly here and the cave is marvellous.
  • First visited the caves housing the diety in 1971, when I had the ocassion to visit Dapoli, Harnai, Dabhol etc. It was beautiful with cold water streams flowing in the cave. There were none of the temple walls and it stood in it's original simplicity. The entrance to the cave was an experience - like stepping into dark space and then trying to find you way to the diety as I remember it, striking with it's large eyes in the darkness of the cave and then taking a pradakshana in the dark with fear of the unknown. Visited after again in 2003 and later in once again to find a lot of changes around. Chandikadevi known as the most fierce form of Kalimata. It was surprisingly for me to know that this Devi was a Kuldevi to some very close childhood friends of my wife, from Baroda.

  • The temple is built in the underground cave. The place is very peaceful during the night.
