This island is now a 220-acre Wildlife refuge that also hosts the Baron Island Hotel. Recently rated as one of the "Top Ten Oddball Hotels of the World".
Near the hotel is the "Watchtower" - A building designed by Frank Lloyd Wright in the 1950s. The island itself was formerly the hunting ground for King Amadeo of Saboya.
