'Tzrifin' is a military camp and an industrial zone near Rishon LeZion, Israel.

The name refers to a Hebrew village, founded in the 1-st century B.C. Later, during the Arab period, the village became known as 'Sarafand Al-Amar'.

The military camp was built in the late 1930's by the British, and named 'Camp Sarafand'. Many British-built wooden barracks still survive to this day, and are still being used by the military.

The camp, abandoned by the British during the Independence War, was captured by Arab forces, and then by Jewish forces. It has been expanded and used by the IDF ever since.

In early 1950's, a large refugee camp arose in Tzrifin to provide temporary housing for Jewish refugees fleeing the Arab countries to Israel. After a few years, the government built homes for the refugees in nearby towns, mainly in Lod and Ramla. In early 1990's, another temporary camp was constructed in Tzrifin, this time for the big wave of Jewish immigration from the collapsing Soviet Union.

Currently, the camp houses some of IDF's training, technological and logistical units. However, most of Tzrifin's territory is to be transferred to the city of Rishon LeZion just within a few years, and this facility is due to close by the end of 2014 / early 2015 when the functions are due to be transferred to the new Central Training Base, in the Negev Desert : Kiryat Ben-Gurion (IrHaBahadim) instead
