The mosque is the part of Spiritual and Educational Complex in Otradnoe District of Moscow. Its construction started in autumn 1996 funded by the Charity Fund for the Tatar Spiritual Heritage Development "Khilyal". The mosque was opened on September 14, 1997. It has two symmetrical minarets 41.5 m in height, and the cupola diameter is 26 m. The mosque may accommodate 2,000 worshippers.

There are special areas for praying allocated on the semi-basement level, in the central hall and the gallery. A madrasa building (for 200-250 students), halal shop and bookshop are also within the mosque complex. A building for ritual services and café intended for charitable dinners and iftars are also in the complex.
