Mixed-use building containing office suites, a cinema and art studios, galleries and exhibition spaces. Originally this was an industrial building constructed in 1917 by the Underwood Typewriter Company for use as a manufacturing, research and development facility for their machines. Adaptive reuse saw the building converted to its present use as a collaborative arts space. The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP).

  • Real Art Ways is a definite art destination in Hartford. For practical purposes, the Real Art Ways Space occupies the rear portion of the larger complex. Artist studios occupy many spaces in the front, Arbor Street side, of the building.
