The Baluarte Bridge (El Puente Baluarte) is a cable-stayed bridge currently under construction in Mexico. It is located between the municipalities of Concordia in Sinaloa and Pueblo Nuevo in Durango, along the Durango-Mazatlan highway. Once it is complete, the bridge will span 1,124 m (3,688 ft) in length, with a cable-stayed span of 520 m (1,710 ft). At a height of 390 m (1,280 ft), the Baluarte Bridge will become one of the tallest bridges in the world. Construction on the bridge began on February 21, 2008.[1] It is expected to be finished in 2012.
