island group / islands, invisible
The eastern of these two adjacent islands was the last natural home of the Bahamian hutia, thought extinct until found here in the 1960's. The hutia has since been transplanted to other islands in the Bahamas. The western cay is thought by some to be the first landfall of Columbus in America, October 12, 1492.
The eastern cay has a size of 6,1 x 0,8 miles (9,8 x 1,2 kilometers) - the western cay has a size of 3,2 x 1,4 miles (5,2 x 2,3 kilometers)
