Founded in 1935, First Federal is a Savings & Loan Association with 18 branches and over $1.8 billion in assets.

The Lakewood headquarters consists of three two story buildings combined into one operations center including, the former Lakewood Market Building (1900) at the corner of Detroit Avenue and Warren Road, the Greco-Roman style Guardian Building at mid-block and the Union Bank Building (1926) at the corner of Detroit Avenue and Cook Avenue.
