Roadbed of the abandoned Shepaug, Litchfield and Northern Railroad in Bethel, CT, between the crossing at Sunny Acres Rd. and the crossing to the northeast at Old Hawleyville Rd. The Shepaug operated from Bethel, CT (at the junction with the Danbury and Norwalk Railroad (today's Metro-North Railroad), just north of the Greenwood Av. (CT-302) crossing) northward to Litchfield, CT. The Danbury and Norwalk Railroad constructed this portion of the line from Bethel to Hawleyville, CT (Newtown) and the Shepaug operated this 6-mile portion of the line by agreement with the D&N. This section of the line was abandoned in June 1911.
