He also serves on the board of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota and currently serves as chair of the business development and audit committees for that board. Vance Opperman's father, Dwight Opperman, made a fortune bring West Publishing into the modern era and selling it to Thompson (now Thompson-Reuters), making a large fortune along the way.
