This railway bridge was once part of the railway from Mechlin (Mechelen) to Terneuzen in the Netherlands. In Dutch the rotating bridge over the canal Brussels-Scheldt is called IJzeren Brug, which means Iron Bridge. It is indeed an iron bridge but it was named after Den IJzeren, a world famous building company that went by the official name Société Anonyme des Ateliers de Construction de Willebroeck.
