Carloway is a thriving community on the west coast of Lewis, Western Isles. The community consists of a school, two restaurants, a pub, two churches, a football ground (Carloway F.C.), a Community Centre, two museums, a youth hotel, war memorial, hotel, pier and two telephone boxes, with various post boxes located over many parts of the district. There are eight townships in Carloway: Borrowston, Dalmore, Doune Carloway, Garenin, Kirivick, Knock Carloway, Park Carloway and Upper Carloway.

Carloway is known for its historical sites, including Dun Charlabhaigh (Carloway Broch) and the Gearrannan Blackhouse Village (Garenin). The Carloway Agricultural show runs annually on the first Wednesday of August, attracting as many as 3,000 people to see what is on offer from stalls, competitions and family activities.

There are proposals for a Community Shop, Petrol Station and Post Office, due to be completed by 2013 if given the go-ahead!

A great place for families to stay.
