  Hawthorns was developed in 1979 by developer Sean Cox. An exclusive residential development of just 11 houses, Hawthorns is a well maintained quiet area on the outskirts of Limerick city. Strategically located close to the University of Limerick, Hawthorns is also serviced by the new Castletroy College secondary school, Milford National School and Monaleen National School.
