This school serves the children of almost all the children in this region.The only convent school in this region the nearest one being at Joda.This school has classes from KG1 to Class 10th. It provides Higher Secondary Education (+2)for science.This school follows the curriculum by ICSE.The school made good progress under the able administration of Sr. Pauly and Sr. Anne, both of them have contributed a lot to this school while they served as the Principal of this school.
The school suffered setbacks due to the rapid growth of mining in this area which made poor students lo leave school sort of their comletion of course and joining the mining jobs. Students from this school had achieved great heights in their life.some great students like Sanjay Ram passed out from this school and showed their glory to the whole state./

  • THE FIRST BATCH OF ICSE STUDENTS IN 1974 DID WELL BECAUSE OF SOME EXCELLENT TEACHERS(SISTERS),MR ROUT AND OFCOURSE FATHER ANTHONY.THERE WERE PROBABLY ONLY 10 STUDENTS IN THAT CLASS.THE SAME YEAR THE LAST BATCH OF SENIOR CAMBRIDGE TOOK THE EXAM.IT WAS A VERY CLOSE KNIT COMMUNITY.SO THERE WERE TWO BATCHES OF STUDENTS TAKING THE EXAM SENIOR CAMBRIDGE AND ICSE.SOME OF THE STUDENTS OF THAT YEAR WERE MOSES PETER,ROY,DINESH LAMBA,SURINDER KAUR(TWO OF THEM),MARY,SANJAY BODHRAJ.BHARDWAJ

  • Glad to hear tthere is a website for the school .Tried downloading the video couldnot do it.Make it shorter so that it can be downloaded more easily. Would also like to seee photographs of present and past teachers and students.There could be alist of all the students who have passed out from this school,I am sure the records would be there. Now I remember in 1972-1974 there were two sister Teresama(not sure of the spelling)one taught science and one taught mathematics.Both were brilliant.They were probably more stressed and worried about the ICSE exams as we were the first batch.

  • St Mary's has given me the best of the days in my life. whether it was the morning prayers followed by speech and thought for the day, or the games classes, the 15th august parade and the winning of the football tournament to prove our supremacy to other school, getting the best of the board results and the inspirational annual day ; St Mary's always had a difference. whether it is the Hindi lessons by yadav sir of the physics classes by Mishra sir, the english lectures by Subbu sir or the omputer classes by taldi sir - every bit of it was phenomenal. i really miss the days in hostel ; my friend Sabyasahi (cachi) and Nilotpal (bangali). Fr Josemn and Fr Xavier . its more than a decade i have left barbil but i close my eyes to see every bit of it.

  • Hi! all my st mary's friends.I miss everybody a lot even after just few months of departure.I spent almost eight years 2000-2008 in st mary's boys hostel and heartly admit that it was the best period of my life till date.

  • I was a student of St. Mary's during the year 1988-1990 in Kg-std.1, dont remember a lot about teacher's and and classmates, wish there were some archive photos etc. However I do remember one teacher named Ms. Mary Kutty Thomas. I had been quite notorious and had ran couple of times from the hostel to Naumundi, escaping the school, got good thrashings and warnings, still I feel and wish If I could bring back those days.. hopefully if someone was in my period or my classmate, would really appreciate if we can make contact again and I am also trying to locate my favourite'st tach-Ms.Mary Kutty Thomas.
