Big Boggy National Wildlife Refuge

Big Boggy National Wildlife Refuge is administered by the Texas Mid-Coast National Wildlife Refuge Complex, a unit of the United States Fish and Wildlife Service, Department of the Interior. The refuge serves as a salt marsh sanctuary, containing Dressing Point Island, one of the most prominent bird rookeries on the Texas Coast. Roseate spoonbills, white Ibis, snowy egrets vie for nesting space along with the endangered brown pelican.

The refuge is open to the public for waterfowl hunting season and for special activities.
