  • This is from the Hohoe District Government Tourism website at: http://www.hohoetourism.com/attractions/Logba_Tota.cfm East of Logba Alekpeti is Logba Tota and the Avatime Hills - a great place to visit. Logba Tota is a small town on top of the Avatime hills, facing Mount Gemi, one of the highest peaks in Ghana. From the main Accra-Hohoe road, a 7km turn-off is signposted eastwards from Logba Alekpeti... The initially flat dirt road follows a valley and reaches a junction after about 3km. The mostly surfaced road to the right winds its way up to Logba Tota. Hiking in the beautiful Avatime Hills is the main tourist activity in the area. In fact, a tourist guide book describes it is “one of the most popular destinations in Ghana for enthusiastic hikers and budget travellers”. An approximately one-hour hike from the town, Akpon Falls is a major attraction close to Logba Tota. It plunges into a pool that is safe to swim in. The cliff above the waterfall hosts several small caves that contain an impressive bat colony as well as a big stalagmite pillar. To reach the cliff, visitors have to climb up a very slippery and potentially dangerous rock formation. Experienced swimmers might even enjoy jumping down from the cliff.
