Planaltina is an administrative region of the Federal District, Brazil. Originally a township Goias, part of its territory was integrated into the new Federal District, where the transfer of capital from Rio de Janeiro to Brasilia in 1960. Completed 148 years, currently has 1534 km ² and has approximately 234 thousand inhabitants, according to data of 2005.
