mansion / manor house / villa, interesting place
This house was built by early twentieth century playboy millionaire James Scott. At one point, it was converted into an apartment building. Falling into decay and gutted by fire, it was abandoned in the early seventies and then gutted by fire again. Scott is famous for donating the money to extend the western point of Belle Isle and build a huge fountain where his statue faces the fountain and city.
