Stuart Park (Kelowna)

Canada / British Columbia / Kelowna

Phase one of Stuart Park was constructed August 2009 to June 2010. The $3.5 million project officially opened September 3, 2010. The parkland (located on Water Street, across the street from City Hall, between Queensway Avenue and the Kelowna Yacht Club building) was named after former City of Kelowna Mayor James (Jim) Stuart in recognition of his dedication to the community and his 31 years of service.

Located directly across from City Hall, Stuart Park connects Waterfront Park to Kerry Park. A boardwalk runs the entire length of the park along Okanagan Lake, and connects many of Kelowna's marinas.

Plans call for the park to be developed over the next several years,
and will eventually include a B.C. Spirit Square, ice rink, and public art displays.
