Ancestral Puebloan (aka Rio Grande Anasazi) pueblo ruin. Occupied c. 1366-1500, it is claimed to be an ancestral pueblo by the Tewa people. Also called Ku’onwikeji; Kuuinge; Bear Creek Ruin. New Mexico Laboratory of Anthropology site number LA 253.

  • I originally misidentified this as Teeuinge (Te'ewi'uinge) Pueblo (as did some early ethnologists, apparently, according to some comments in the 1907-1908 annual report of the Bureau of American Ethnology), but subsequently straightened it out.
