The bounding box indicates the main crater of this volcano. This is a classic shield volcano in that it's very flat and wide. It covers all of the dark area surrounding the crater. It's about 24 square miles in area, but only a few hundred feet high. This is BLM land (Bureau of Land Management). Feel free to explore. Park outside of the crater and hike in.
