The City of Pickens has a Council form of Government, with a Mayor and six council members elected at large by a non-partisan general election for a term of four years.

Council holds its regular meetings the first Monday of every month at 6pm in the Council Chambers located at 219 Pendleton Street, Pickens SC 29671. A work session is typically scjeduled for the 3rd Monday of each month unless the public is notified otherwise. The Council appoints an Administrator to carry out the day to day duties of the City.
