  • This and the accompanying interchange are the only completed segments of the original downtown freeway plan from the 1960s, which was cancelled in early 1970s in favor of an underground downtown LRT. It was meant to continue east to the Capilano Freeway, Manning Freeway, and Yellowhead East; west past Telus Park, down the river vally to Stoney Plain Road and Yellowhead West; and south through Mill Creek to Calgary Trail/Hwy 2.
