Square bay, 2.5 mi in extent, entered 3 mi NW of Cape Foster on the SW side of James Ross Island. First seen and surveyed in 1903 by the SwedAE under Nordenskjold, who named it for J. Carlsson of Sweden who contributed toward the cost of the expedition. The bay was resurveyed by the FIDS in 1952-53.
