Georges Labit museum (Toulouse)

France / Midi-Pyrenees / Toulouse

Housed in a small Moorish pavilion near the Canal du Midi, the museum bears the name of Georges Labit (1862-1899), a collector from Toulouse who gathered together in his villa the items and artefacts he had purchased on his numerous travels.

The Musée Labit is the only museum outside of Paris to offer a remarkably complete panorama of three millennia of art from India, China, Cambodia, Tibet, Nepal, Egypt and Japan, including Tibetan religious objects, mummies, sarcophagi, Indian wood carvings, Buddhas, Chinese terracottas, masks, Samurai armour and much more. www.uk.toulouse-tourisme.com/sights-and-visits-the-geor...
