The road from the central part of the estate to the river Voronka runs through the wide glade. Its name is the Uneven Glade, as its outline is asymmetrical: it widens sharply on its western side. In Tolstoy’s time, it was a place for family picnics and young people’s games. Besides, it was, and still is, used for mowing. Some of the museum’s open-air events also take place here, for example the Motley Glade patchwork festival.
