This town was still standing until the beginning of the last century, when the French occupation destroyed its beautiful monuments such as the two towers which were the most important characteristic of this ancient town.
This was followed by a different type of injustice and harm from the so called "Sons of Balad". They demolished what was still standing and used the carved stones to build a dam in the neighboring village Khazma.
