Existing already before 2250 BC, Borsippa reached its peak in New-Babylonian times 600 BC. The Ezida district, mainly built or rebuilt under Nebukadnezar II (602 -562 BC), includes mainly temples (e.g. for Nabu, Tasmetum ans Marduk), but also accomodation facilities for the kings when visiting Borsippa.
