The Ferguslie Park estate is close to Paisley Town Centre but is physically cut off from the rest of the town by a network of railway lines and disused railway embankments. Over a third of the estate is open space, often poorly maintained or wasteland with gap sites - the result of selective demolition and the absence of a full redevelopment strategy.
