 temple, hinduism, hindu temple

A Hindu Temple dedicated to Ganesha - The remover of obstacles. Realising the religious and cultural needs of the sizeable Hindu community of Petaling Jaya, a team of dedicated pioneers committed themselves enthusiastically towards building a place of worship for Hindus. This resulted in the formation in 1955, of a pro-tem Petaling Jaya Hindu Association Committee under the chairmanship of Sri C.S. Kandiah with the primary aim of establishing a Hindu temple in Petaling Jaya. The tireless efforts of this pro-tem committee resulted in the Petaling Jaya authorities allocating the current site for building a temple.
