It is an old Kasbah about 300 years old.It is a very beautiful oasis which is irrigated by The Gheris Wadi and an everflowing spring "Tifounassine".The etymology of Igoulmimne is the plural of Aglmam which means a lake or pond of water.In the past, people refer to it also as "Laqbalt", the qibla ( prayer direction towards Mecca for Muslims ). This was why the first dwellers of the place were called Iqbliyne ( black people ).Ait Atta lived there for some time, but Ait Morghad came to defend Iqbliyne and chased them.Now, both Iqbliyne and Ait Morghad are still living there in harmony.
