Due to the restructuring of the Territorial Army (TA) 32 Signal Regiment (V) has now taken command of Squadrons based in Belfast, Darlington, Edinburgh, East Kilbride, Glasgow, Hartlepool, Limavady, Liverpool and Manchester. Part of the Royal Corps of Signals, our TA unit provides one of the most unique Army communications systems in the world. It’s our job to maintain links between Army units in order to constantly relay vital information to commanders on the ground.A vital part of the Army’s day-to-day function during Operations such as our peace-keeping role in Cyprus, we also provide support to UK mainland agencies in times of civil emergencies such as flooding and terror alerts. For this reason, we remain at a high state of readiness for action.
Located in central Glasgow, the Squadron provides administration to the Regiment, the Regimental Command Post for exercises and training resources throughout the year.Also based in Glasgow is the Regiments own Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (REME) Light Aid Detachment (LAD) commanded by a TA REME captain. The LAD is responsible for maintaining and repairing the unit's vehicles and equipment, including Land Rovers and the new SA-80 A2 rifle.
