  • High School 1958 ! any one around from about that time or before, say sixth grade, the time of principal Gopi Nath Kapoor (what gentleman!). Did so much for the school, like the wind powered tube well, Chana scheme. Fed us chana, gajar! I still have friends in Meerut & Ghaziabad from those years. Place your reply here and may be, we could communicate. One of my friends went on to head the Botany Dept. at Meerut college and several became officers in the Army & IAF.

  • I joined GIC Meerut in 1965, 9th std Technical Group. Few colleagues - Brijesh Tyagi and Mohd. Yakub from Municipal schooling / District Board Exams pass outs - have to clear entrance examination for admission. In 1967 UP Board High School examination ( technical group ) first two merit position holders were from GIC / Meerut. Performance of GIC/Meerut was rated very high - albeit some teachers even than practiced / encouraged private tuitions
