As a consequence, the Polis area could become a playground for the wealthy, due not only to fabulous golf courses but also the great generous tax regimes in Cyprus. With one of the best golf projects conceived in Europe over the last twenty years and the only joint project in Europe by these two prolific course designers, you can be sure that demand will be high. Cyprus also offers the longest golf playing season in Europe which is another attraction to avid golfers everywhere. Limni Golf Course in Cyprus!

Formerly an old copper mine, the parcel of land designated for the Player course is characterized by a large crater which will be integrated into the design. In addition, the property is raised up and set back from the shoreline, allowing for spectacular long-distance views of the Mediterranean Sea. Already a booming tourist destination with year round sunshine, Cyprus is the new “jewel in the crown” for golfers seeking breaks in the warmth of the eastern Mediterranean. As the first and only Gary Player/Nicklaus development in the whole of Europe, Limni golf resort will undoubtedly be in a top class of its own for many years to come!

There are 2 golf courses planned on the same site and the possibility of a third although the information is still classified as above top secret and the details of this remain elusive. However any future construction is to be of the very highest quality and an early off plan investment in and around the PGA rated courses will prove, hugely successful with the sheer quality and exquisite site of the development!

Said Gary Player during his visit, " The introduction of a golf course to this beautiful site really enables us to ' mend a scar ' and give back to Mother Nature. " When we have finished here, Limni will undoubtedly be a showcase for golf's green movement. " Gary Player also expressed excitement about working with a piece of land that offers such dramatic elevations. " The topography will lend itself to a golf course with a amazing character, with some holes offering long distance views and others playing along the quarry wall. beautiful courses in a majestic location with superb views to reward any seriously passionate golfers"!!

More on the location and vistas

Having visited the site myself it is not an exaggeration to say that these courses will have fabulous views over the Mediterranean sea, as well as being the largest in Cyprus. They also end right on the beach which will prove quite exciting once they are finished.

Limni is not a confined space in any way shape or form, the way unlike the other golf courses in Cyprus which have had to adapt to space and layout issues. There is no doubt that this will be the premier golf resort in Cyprus, a 36 - hole, two - signature incredible conception which will use every inch of its spectacular natural surroundings, to create magnificent views over the Mediterranean sea.

Lapped by the Mediterranean Sea along a 750m stretch of shoreline, the coastal course is an exquisitely crafted piece of golfing architecture by legendary player and course designer Jack Nicklaus, while Limni's 'Mountain' course is the vision of South African golfing legend Gary Player. Situated in the coastal hills at an elevation of around two hundred metres above sea level, these spectacular courses will boast unrivalled views of the Mediterranean Sea and the Akamas peninsula.

This golf resort really stands out with its vision, meticulous planning and sheer creativity today!

When Jack Nicklaus was commissioned to create a stunning, coveted 18-hole signature course at Limni Golf Resort, lack of space could not be an issue!

Set on a massive 142 million square metre tract of coastal land in the grounds of what used to be the Limni Copper Mine, his course sprawls lazily through a landscape which boasts some of the most astonishing views to be found anywhere in Cyprus

Limni's 'Mountain' Golf Resort is a combination of genius, experience, ambition and professionalism all rolled in to one

  • UPDATE : Golf court will not open on summer .There are no licences to start excavations. They want to destroy nature to build golf court .
  • What a pity to destroy this landscape. Why does nobody stop them in Cyprus. Before everyone could go to the beach. Lots of turtles for many years. This why we bought our plot in this area, the wonderful landscape free of buildings, the open beach, without restrictions. Look at the outskirts of Polis, Christou brothers have started with the destruction of the area from Polis to Kato Paphos.
