This should be your first stop in Cherchen. This is where you purchase tickets to visit the Zaghunluk tomb and the Toghralek manor (50Y per person to visit both places, arrange your own transport.) There is one employee who speaks quite good english.

The first floor of this building is the Cherchen (Quiemo) museum. It is free and actually quite interesting. Many of the artifacts here came from the nearby Zaghunluk tomb and the Toghralek manor. Probably the most interesting things in the museum are the two mummies displayed in glass cases. There is one male and one female mummy dating around 2500 years old. There is also a video about local history which can be played upon request. Also available is a 40 minute long video about the 60 day flood of the Tarim river which affected local villages in 2010.

The Museum closes from 11:30 - 3:00 (local time.)
