Limehouse in the late 1800s and early 1900s was a booming village, manufacturing lime (precursor to cement), fireproof paint, wool and wood. The mill pond is still evident exiting at the mill ruins, all of which is contained in the Limehouse Conservation Area, which is also host to the Bruce Trail.
