GL Nobel test site
British Gas used to own this testing facility in the middle of RAF Spadeadam. Its was later sold by Centrica, the inheritor of British Gas infrastructure after privatisation to Advantica who have since been taken over by GL Noble Denton. This is now their Leading Test Centre which they say is a unique facility carrying out explosive research and technical service work for the oil and gas, process and energy industries, construction industries as well as government agencies.

This was the location where several years ago (early 2000s) ITV television destroyed a replica of The House of Lords using gunpowder:
