Previously it was a US Military Hospital, then reused as a Displaced Persons camp for Polish refugees. Now it is a care home for ex Polish service men and women. The home is under the social care of Devon County Council. The residents need to meet Polish Resettlement Act 1947 in order to register for this care home.
