  We used to call Hermitage Park the pits, it was a gravel pit and they filled in with water. Used to bike there from the Fort Road and 56 St, and go skinny dipping with my friends. Sadly one of my friends drowned there in the early 70's. Actually met the Hermit that lived there, he was wierd and crude. When he died I read a article in the Journal saying he had over 100,000. cash stuffed under his bed!
