Proumeyssac Cave

(Local Name: Gouffre de Proumeyssac) Gouffre de Proumeyssac is a large underground cave with numerous stalactites and stalagmites, which were formed by the constant seep of water from four petrifying springs. There are also helictites and a unique set of triangular formations. The Pit of Proumeyssac was first explored in 1907 and is currently the biggest cavity in Périgord.
