  Maklang is a small village,situated in the Imphal West district of Manipur,India.It is around 11 km.far away from the state capital Imphal,in the west direction,along NH 53 Imphal-Jiri line.To go to Maklang,one has to move along the NH 53 Imphal-Jiri upto HVS Brick Field,Patsoi.From there,one road is diverted to the right side of the highway.This diverted road leads to Patsoi-IV,Salam,Luker and then Maklang.Maklang is recently in the news as an ancient star shaped fort had been discovered in it's paddy field.This fort is believed to be pre-Kangla fort(33AD),as it is constructed only from mud i.e before the knowledge of using brick in Manipur.However a research is underway to find out more information of the fort.
