Originally this building was known as Fleming House - a typical early 1960s high-rise office building and concrete shopping precinct, that was given a new lease of life in the early 2000s when the top floors were converted into luxury flats, and short stay apartments by the Glasgow Loft Company. It set the scene for other unloved 1960s/1970s buildings in the city centre to be converted in exactly the same way.
